Rising Hope

Das einst strahlende Siegerpferd Rising Hope ist über Nacht ein Verlierer geworden. Von seinem Jockey verlassen, irrt es durch die Stadt und findet dabei neue Freunde und seine wahre Natur.

Rising Hope, who used to be the fastest horse in the world, suddenly turns into a loser. With the help of a new friend - a jack-of-all-trades hound - he finds hope and himself again.

Short Film Award of the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau-Foundation
Der Kurzfilmpreis der Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau-Stiftung ist bundesweit eine der begehrtesten Auszeichnungen dieser Art und zählt als Referenzkriterium für die FFA-Kurzfilmförderung. Das Preisgeld geht an die Produzenten. Die feierliche Verleihung fand am 3. Mai 2013 (19 Uhr) in der Caligari FilmBühne (Wiesbaden) statt. Die Filmschaffenden nahmen das Preisgeld von jeweils 2000 Euro auf der Bühne entgegen. "Kaum ein Film könnte die menschliche Sehnsucht nach der Natur wohl unpathetischer ausdrücken als die Animation jener wachsenden Hoffnung des Rennpferdes „Rising Hope“ auf Ruhe, Vogelgezwitscher und saftige grüne Landschaft - soweit das Auge reicht. Die dafür erfundene humorvolle Parabel ist voller Details und Metaphern über die heutige auf Wettbewerb orientierte Lebensweise, die krank macht. Wenn Leistung ausbleibt, endet die Karriere. Die originellen Figuren sind handwerklich perfekt gestaltet. Die Handlung mit jähen pointierten Wendungen vermeidet jede vordergründige Belehrung. Die Ästhetik der Bildsprache spricht Zuschauer jeden Alters an und bewirkte durch die sensiblen bis turbulenten Situationen vor allem bei Kindern und Jugendlichen Zustimmung und laute Begeisterung."
