BACHELOR'S DEGREE COURSE IN ANIMATION

Subject to approval from the University administration, plans are in place to offer the Bachelor’s degree course in Animation as described below from the winter semester 2011 onwards. Please ensure that you check our website for any possible changes before submitting your application.

The main focus of this course is the teaching of the basic artistic, manual and technological principles involved in all classic and experimental 2D and 3D animation techniques.

In both the theoretical and practical aspects of the course, students will be taught about the foundations of animation, visual arts subjects, animation software, content and character development, storyboarding and dramaturgy.

The aim of this course is for students to acquire knowledge and understanding of the integral basic principles required to produce animated auteur films, which will then be put into practice in the artistic Bachelor’s project.

The standard duration of this course is 8 semesters.

The degree Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) will be awarded upon successful completion of this course.

(Following this Bachelor’s course, the HFF will offer a consecutive Master’s course in Animation Direction with a duration of four semesters. This course will further develop and take a more in-depth look at the experiences and abilities acquired in the Bachelor’s course.)
