Over the past six decades, more than 4500 aspiring filmmakers have studied their craft at the Academy. While the first of these have already come to the end of their careers, the most recent ones are only getting started, bringing with them to their new jobs a top-rate education and wealth of ideas and aspirations. While most of our ‘oldies’, some of whom have helped shape film and television history, can look back at long, steady careers, younger alumni are now facing the challenges of a highly complex and volatile global media market.
Each generation has its own unique experiences which we would like to unite in a network that would benefit our current students, faculty and alumni. To this end, the HFF has employed an Alumni Officer in the Communication and Marketing Department since January 2009. Our aim is to establish, maintain and develop contact with former HFF students. Work is underway on the heart of the future network – the Alumni Database. The monthly e-mail newsletter Alumni News provides subscribers with information on the projects and careers of former HFF students, as well as reports on films, festival participation, prizes, publications, events and much more. The Alumni Office provides contacts and occasionally helps with the formation of film crews.
If you have studied at the HFF, whether full-time, as a scholarship holder, guest student or as a delegate from another university or technical college, we would be delighted to hear from you. The success of our Alumni Network depends on all of us, and we hope you will join us in our efforts.
