PROFIL

The education provided by the HFF, which brings students together in interdisciplinary group projects despite its highly specialised courses, is unique among German language media academies. This enables students to learn how to work in a team under realistic conditions resembling the high division of labour in the world of media and to develop their availability, flexibility and ability to co-operate.

The practical orientation of education at the HFF is ensured by nationally and internationally recognised media experts and specialists, who are employed on the basis of flexible staff planning. At the HFF, theoretical foundation courses are accompanied and complemented by creative practical work,  with new media technologies forming an integral component of both the teaching and this artistic practical aspect. A creative and theoretical approach to the students’ own cultural roots and consideration of both their past and current manifestations in a globalised world are a central theme of the lessons and the students’ projects.

As an arts University with the right to award doctorates, the HFF places a particular focus on artistic and scientific research.

In addition, the University boasts a large number of international contacts and co-operations which have a considerable influence on the development of its own profile.
